Happiness Is Instant Ginger Honey Mix

Seriously, this stuff.

Also, at some point our society transitioned to YouTube videos as the preferred tutorial format, and it makes me bonkers. I like reading things and looking at pictures. Videos are not at all my preferred input. I can understand all the reasons they're good, but I just want to READ WORDS DAMMIT.

They can be searched! Deaf people won't want to stab you!

Those still aren't reasons that they should be replacing rather than augmenting.

Dang it, just erased your comment about rain on accident. The moderation queue has gotten weird on LJ. Sorry...

Yes, but good reading literacy is an important prerequisite for 96% of the jobs at my work (and all of the ones that might be trained by this series of videos). Learning from videos isn't one unless the training videos make it so.

And I think the comment thread illustrates that a large function of the population can't function comfortably with training videos. They don't have to write me good copy; I can usually get as much from the transcript as I would from the video*, and faster.

*I do concede the value of training videos for the database, because it's hard to find things, even if you're on the right page. But I still want skimmable transcripts for people who just need a refresh.
