Neverwinter Nights 2, like many other games, has its flaws.

However, unlike most other games, it has achieved what only two games in recent memory have done for me--Jade Empire and Bard's Tale. I am playing almost entirely to see what the heck my NPCs say next. I just giggled through my entire trial for mass murder.

This just confirms what the editor at Harcourt told me--plot, shmot, plot can be fixed, the important thing is the writing. While gameplay is an added twist with games, I still think there's a lot to be said--good writing in a game will sustain me a loooong way. (As Bard's Tale proved, where the interface sucked assdonkeys.)
