I spent much of today pacing the floors waiting to find out if the LA thing will go through. Glory of glories, my agent got ahold of me, and it looks like it's a go--ballpark date would be leaving May 7th, for around two weeks. This is a great strain off my mind--I was afraid I'd be gone a whole month, and the practical details would have been woogly. Now I may even get to keep my job at the art supply store, Digger will only go on a brief hiatus, and all will be well.

In celebration, have a very vivid, fairly silly frog. Because it's been a long ass time since I painted a frog.

Vivid Frog

yay! utter coolness!

I know I can't afford an original but I'll have to see about getting my stuff together to get a print of that for my brother. The lad is into frogs.

Congratulations on it all going through!!! YAY, Urs in the same city as me! Let me know if you want crashing space, or trader joes food - cause I can do that. Either way enjoy your visit and good luck with the stuff!

P.S. Love the frog!

Congratulations! Enjoy CA!

I like the frog. It almost looks like a painting of a terracotta frog, except that he looks alive, too. A terracotta frog that got brought to life?

Ooo!! I love frogs! :) They were chorusing full force two days ago, when the sun was out and the weather warm. They might even have been out today, but I wasn't home to hear them. The nights seem to be a little chilly for them still. Anyway, I love your vivid frog! Nicely done. :)

I really, really, really like the frog.

I say we call him the Celebratory Frog. But for some reason I want to yell "¡Viva la rana!"

Anyway, congratulations!

Yay!

Be careful though, those LA types can be kinda vauge about time frames... ;)

Yay, LA! Are you going to be a MOVIE STAR??!

You know, that frog is probably the most reasonable, sensible, normal thing you ever painted.

Are you sure you're feeling OK? :)

Yay! We shall welcome you to L.A. with open arms! You'll definetly want to go birding out on the Playa Vista area.

I love that frog! How much would you charge for the original?

Ah...$75 plus shipping, say. If you're interested, send me an e-mail at ursulav@metalandmagic.com and I'd be happy to set something up--otherwise, I've got prints galore!

Nice frog, although I'd love to see what you make of the one in my icon.

congrats on the LA thing!

Love the frog-n what an incredibly gorgeous shade of red!! (I am really, really in love with that colour).

Also, congratulations on the exciting mystery project in LA! (You will tell us what it is someday, right? :P) Hope all goes well!

Hello people

Peace people

We love you

All that goodness about keeping jobs and not having to postpone the return of Digger -- plus, you'll be back in time for your birthday (which is in late May, right?)

Maybe you can chase away whatever blues you have by dropping hints to your friends that a party is in order. Or at least, a gathering of some sort involving good home-baked cake and some decent food. Friends and birthday cake never fail to cheer a person up.

Speaking of Digger, my copy of Volume One came in yesterday. I promptly began procrastinating on mid-terms and read the whole thing. *grin* Even my very picky about what he reads husband (who insists the last "good" graphic novels were ElfQuest) says it looks interesting to merit him reading it.

My birthday is coming up in a few months, I shall pester him to no end until he gets me Volume Two. (His is first, maybe I'll get him it instead... *plots*)

Poor frog! I hope you used non-toxic paints.

Hello! You have been le pimped. Apparently our styles are similar, and also, compatible.

I am deeply in love with your platypus icon in ways that ought to be reserved solely for other human beings. Did you make it yourself? I made mine myself, but... somehow that's just not very impressive to anyone.

I tell stories of my childhood and youth. I also tell stories about work. I'm not sure what you're doing in LA, but I wish you the best of luck with it.

And if you like, I would be amenable to being lj friends with you!
