I was coming back from the corner store, having had a sudden pressing need for a bubble bath* and there he was, trotting along the edge of the little wooded area across the street from the duck pond. At first I thought it was a cat, but my brain immediately registered that the motion was too swinging a trot for a cat, and then the tail registered, and lo! grey fox!
Hmm. I'd worry more about Ben getting out, but frankly, Ben could give that fox a run for its money--I'm much more worried about him encountering adult raccoons. And mostly I'm just delighted to see a grey fox in the wild! That's so cool! I don't think I've ever seen a live one before!
He was too far off to determine whether or not he was defective, but of course we can assume.
*Yes, fine, it's girly. I AM ALLOWED TO BE GIRLY OCCASIONALLY, DAMNIT!
